it's a phrase with deep social and philosophical context - something both easily understandable and completely misunderstood. it's synergy. it's 1+1 = 3. it's past present future. it's a message of unity, cooperation, and suit up/show up. it says never arrive at the party emptyhanded. care for your brothers and sisters, and if someone, somewhere, brings the biscuits you better goddamn well bring the gravy.

I started 2022 with a goal - release 3 albums of all-new, all-original music. 2 albums down and 2 minutes to midnight, I present album #3: "you bring the biscuits (I'll bring the gravy)".

you could say this album is more of a double EP:

side A - "you bring the biscuits" - is all music created "post-pandemic" (2022). this side is an instrumental mix of trap beats, syrupy synths, bells, bongs, and dreamy drivetime drones.
side B - "(i'll bring the gravy)" - is a selection of songs that I wrote and recorded *just before* the pandemic (early 2019), before and after moving to Georgia. this is a mix of skuzzy guitars, inward-focused lyircs, and plenty of left turns.

Also included is a BONUS TRACK - a fully fleshed-out version of the song "all joking aside", which was originally released on "these are the things" in raw acoustic form.

It was a lot of fun going back over old recordings from a very prolific creative period in my life and seeing how my music/art has evolved over that time. to see where I was experimenting, what boundaries I felt I was pushing at the time, what i had to say, and to try and remember why i had to say it.
